The 8th International Young Composers Meeting
- February 10th-15th 2002

An annual competition organised by Podium GIGANT, orchestra 'de ereprijs' in Apeldoorn and the GAUDEAMUS Foundation in Amsterdam. Hannah became the youngest of the 16 Composers selected internationally under the age of 30 to be selected to attend this meeting in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Each composer was given the task to compose a 3-minute piece for GIGANT's ensemble-in-residence, 'De Ereprijs' with a combination of additional voices. These pieces where then workshoped and performed in a concert on the final day of the meeting.
Hannah's piece, entitled Seascape was entered for the 2002 meeting.
The leaders of the meeting, Louis Andriessen, Hanna Kulenty, Martijn Padding and Andrew Toovey gave group and private lessons to the young composers, during the week.

During university, Hannah was able to organise a live multi-media concert around 3 of her own pieces.
The compositions were written for her father's drafted film script.
A benificial experience in management and organisational skills. She brought together the ensemble, conducted rehearsals, arranged the venue, date and time of the concert, organised a slide show, created advertising and recorded the concert to CD.

Developed for university composers to be able to work with High School Ensembles, learning and 'training on the job'.
In 1998, Hannah worked with Sandgate High School's Brass Ensemble, attending rehearsals over a 9 month period, composing, March of the Backpackers.
In 2002, she worked with St Pauls School's Concert Band composing, Spirit. for an ensemble of 60 students.
